Catfight
I never liked Xiaxue. Found her repulsive, at least to me. I dropped by her blog once or twice before. Never failed to leave more than a little disappointed, and at least on one occasion a wee bit disgusted. I expected more, really.
That was not a blog. That was a tabloid. It has Rupert Murdoch’s fat fingerprints all over it. What do her regulars see in it, I have no idea. As far as I am concerned, it is just another personality cult. Such conflicts do tend to make bitches out of people, I suppose.
As for this Dawn persona, I confess I know little of her. From what I can gather though, they do not see very different. Maybe Dawn’s photo in the papers is more flattering.
Well, I am inclined to think that if the two of them are bent on embarrassing themselves in public, perhaps smearing each other with a few choice of words on the way, then by all means go ahead. I n fact, I would gladly, metaphorically speaking, pave their respective roads to hell for them.
The rivalry is obviously of the personal, bitchy sort. Which, as protocol would have it, is supposed to be confined to the ladies’ room. Very well, they are not ladies in this sense then. So I need not refer to them as such.
One thing is for sure though; this is giving the blogosphere a bad name. Some time ago I lamented the advent of reactionaries; now it seems we have to contend with personality cults as well.
Please the alternative media and forum cannot be considered viable to the mainstream one unless it can show itself to subscribe to substantially higher standards. Neither reactionary nor ‘celebrity’ will aid us on this course.
The Straits Times certainly is not helping either. If I were a hyper-suspicious conspiracy theorist I would accuse the PAP of attempting to discredit the blogosphere, but I guess that would be a little far out.
Seriously, what the heck is this issue doing on Page 5 of HOME? With a good half-page coverage too. For goodness’ sake, you parade yourself as a respectable paper. Facade (as some bloggers insist it is) or not, you are the main circulation we have.
No ‘connecting with the ground’ bullshit please. This sort of nonsense is plenty covered by the New Paper. That half-page could have been used for something more newsworthy than that!
Seriously. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
Oh. Those two bloggers (I did say I would be avoiding the term ‘ladies’) ought to just quietly fade away. The blogosphere is better off without them. We have no need for tabloids while our base is still infested with reactionaries.
Piaroh-Cze:
This is why there are so few ladies among my Crew.
